Through our “MangroveInitiative”, in partnership with “EcoMatcher”, we are planting mangrove trees across the United Arab Emirates—creating lasting impact for our environment, our customers, and future generations.

Why Mangroves Matter

Mangroves are extraordinary trees that serve as powerful allies in the fight against climate change. They can store up to four times more carbon than tropical forests, helping reduce greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. 

Mangroves also play a vital role in:

• Protecting coastlines from erosion, rising sea levels, and storm surges
• Supporting biodiversity by providing habitats for a variety of species
• Strengthening local communities and ecosystems

Our initiative directly contributes to the UAE’s national goal of planting 100 million mangroves by 2030, as announced at COP26, and aligns with global climate action efforts.

A Unique Experience for Junior and Elite Customers

As part of the “Mangrove Initiative”, Arab Bank gifts a registered, traceable mangrove tree to the “Junior” and “Elite” customers. Each tree is planted in the UAE and assigned a unique digital profile—accessible anytime, anywhere.

With “EcoMatcher” technology, you can:

• View the location of your tree on a map
• Learn about the local environment and the community supporting the project
• Track your tree’s growth and positive impact over time
• Interact with your tree through an engaging digital platform
